As of Monday (Sept.23), the BET index, as the main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), will have Romanian drugmaker Antibiotice Iasi.
With a rich history and experience in the production of drugs, for over seven decades, Antibiotice is the main Romanian producer of generic drugs and is a company present on the capital market for over 27 years, its development being closely related to its path on BVB, considering that it is one of the first companies listed on the stock exchange.

In the last year, the value of the Antibiotice share increased multiplying almost 3 times, being one of the most performant shares on BVB. With its inclusion in the BET index, the company is also included in the gross and net total efficiency variants of this index, namely in the BET-TR and BET-TRN indices. Antibiotice is also included in the BET-XT, BET-XT-TR, BET-XT-TRN, BET-BK and BET Plus indices.
During the first 6 months of 2024 Antibiotice registered an 8% increase in total revenues, which reached 379.96 million lei, compared to the similar period of the previous year (352.54
million lei). The total revenues combined with the total expenses, amounting to 301.53
million lei, led to a 20% higher net profit, amounting to 74.2 million lei, compared to the first
6 months of 2023 (62 million lei).
Antibiotice’s another important achievement during H1 2024 vs. H1 2023: The highest increase of the share registered at the BVB in the last year, of 317.85%, the maximum price of the share being reached in June, at the value of 3.3900 lei.
In 2023, Antibiotice also obtained the first place in a row for “The best company in terms of activity in relation to investors” in the competition launched by ARIR (Romanian Association for Investor Relations) and marked the moment participating in the launch of the first collection of NFT from the Romanian capital market.
Premier Energy, an electricity producer, balancer, distributor and supplier and natural gas supplier and distributor, was also added to BVB’s BET index on Monday (Sept. 23). Premier Energy has also been included in the BET-XT, BET-XT-TR, BET-XT-TRN, BET-BK, BET-NG and BET Plus indices, after being included in the BET-EF index ever since its launch this year.
