Australian Securities Exchange (ASX)

The Australian Stock Exchange Limited was formed in 1987. In 2006 the Australian Stock Exchange merged with the Sydney Futures Exchange to become the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), one of the world’s leading financial market exchanges based in Sydney, Australia. From 2010, the Australian Securities Exchange has been known as the ASX Group.

ASX is an integrated exchange offering listings, trading, clearing, settlement, technical and information services, technology, data and other post-trade services.

ASX operates markets for a wide range of asset classes including equities, fixed income, commodities and energy. ASX’s business is structured around four divisions: Listings, Markets, Technology and Data, and Securities and Payments.

NATIONAL STOCK EXCHANGE OF AUSTRALIA (NSX)

NSX is Australia’s second largest listing stock exchange. It is an Australian Market Licence holder specialising in listing growth companies. Through its role as a securities exchange NSX sees itself as facilitating innovation, diversification of investment, economic growth and job creation in the Australian economy due to its focus on companies with a sub $50m market-cap. The aims of the NSX are facilitated by a diverse and effective base of market participants who act as the essential intermediaries in matching investors with opportunities.

NSX has many of Australia’s largest brokers connected and a network of dozens of adviser firms helping support companies throughout the initial listing and capital raising process, through to ongoing compliance, secondary raising and cross border dual listings.


SOUTH PACIFIC STOCK EXCHANGE (SPX)

The South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPX) is the only licensed securities exchange in Fiji. It was established in 1979 as the Suva Stock Exchange, owned by the Fiji Development Bank. In 2000 it changed its name to the South Pacific Stock Exchange, with a view to becoming a regional exchange. In 2019, the Exchange rebranded from SPSE to SPX. The SPX is a private limited liability company with eight shareholders. The functions of the SPX are: Listing, Market (Trading & Research), Clearance, Settlements & Registry Services, Public Awareness and Front-line Regulation.


NEW ZEALAND EXCHANGE (NZX)

New Zealand’s Exchange (NZX) is the national stock exchange for New Zealand and a publicly owned company. NZX began life as a number of regional stock exchanges during the gold rush of the 1860s. With further changes implemented in 1983, the New Zealand Stock Exchange was formed. In 2003, the New Zealand Stock Exchange formally changed its name to the New Zealand Exchange Limited, trading as NZX.

Today, NZX operates New Zealand’s equity, funds, derivatives energy and carbon markets. It provides trading, clearing, settlement, depository and data services. NZX also has a funds management business Smart and advisory platform NZX Wealth Technologies.
