OpenAI has unveiled its latest innovation, Operator, a groundbreaking service designed to redefine how businesses and individuals interact with artificial intelligence. As a pioneer in the AI space, OpenAI continues to push the boundaries of technology, and Operator is poised to be a game-changer.
Operator is a general-purpose AI agent that OpenAI claims it has the potential to automate many day-to-day tasks and workday errands by taking control of a web browser and independently performing certain actions, such as booking travel accommodations, concert tickets, making restaurant reservations, and shopping online.

“Operator is one of our first agents, which are AIs capable of doing work for you independently,” OpenAI wrote in a blog post on Thursday (Jan.23). “You give it a task and it will execute it.”
The ability to use the same interfaces and tools that humans interact with on a daily basis broadens the utility of AI, helping people save time on everyday tasks while opening up new engagement opportunities for businesses.
Currently available exclusively for ChatGPT Pro users in the US, Operator still has a number of limitations and will change based on user feedback in the coming days and weeks, according to the company.
The app is powered by a new model called Computer-Using Agent—CUA (“coo-ah”), for short—built on top of OpenAI’s multimodal large language model GPT-4o.
Operator’s launch comes amid growing interest in AI-driven tools across industries such as finance, healthcare, education, and e-commerce. With its ease of integration, Operator is expected to set new standards for AI applications.

Since its inception, the company has pioneered breakthroughs in machine learning, empowering industries worldwide.
