Since 1985, the International Tourism Exhibition Philoxenia – Hotelia has been shaping the landscape of tourism entrepreneurship in Greece, establishing a robust exhibition brand that resonates both domestically and internationally.
The Exhibition is organized annually every November at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition & Conference Center. The first two days are exclusively aimed at Greek and foreign trade visitors, while on the third day, it opens its doors to the interested public who wish to plan their holidays in advance.
In 2023, The Philoxenia and Hotelia exhibitions had a total of 431 participations from the entire spectrum of the tourism industry. More specifically, at Philoxenia there were 211 direct and 90 indirect exhibitor participations (a total of 301 exhibitors), a 30% increase from 2022. There was a total of 17 exhibitor countries.
In its 39th edition, taking place from 14 to 16 November, 2024 the trade fair duo will welcome again key players from the entire tourism industry, travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, specialized press and travelers.
At this year’s Philoxenia, dedicated to cultural tourism, the Hellenic Organization of Cultural Resources Development (H.O.C.RE.D.) is participating for the first time. With a mission to promote and highlight the unique footprint of Greek culture, as the responsible entity for the operation of archaeological sites, monuments, and museums, H.O.C.RE.D. brings culture to the forefront as a hub of sustainable development.
In collaboration with HELEXPO, the relevant services of the Ministry of Tourism, and Local Government, H.O.C.RE.D. is proceeding within the framework of the Philoxenia exhibition with a strategic program targeting suitable tour operators and buyers from international markets. At the same time, it organizes a conference that will focus on the interconnected relationship between Tourism and Culture, the benefits that arise from this relationship, as well as the challenges that both sectors are called to face.
