CAPITAL MARKET MOVING NEWS
ECONOMY
-Private lending increased by 8.8% last month on an annual basis to a total amount of RON418 billion, after local currency loans grew by 11.5% and foreign currency ones by 3%, the National Bank of Romania (BNR) data showed.
-Population and company deposits in November stood at RON614.4 billion, up 10.6% y-o-y (5.2% in real terms), after local currency deposits went up by 13.7% and foreign currency ones by 3.7%, according to BNR.
FINANCE
-Romanians invested RON 2.6bn in the latest issue of Fidelis government bonds and raised to RON 16.4bn the amount attracted by the Ministry of Finance on the capital market in 2024 an annual record since the resumption of these issues at the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).
COMPANIES
Romania’s 4-star Hotel International Băile Felix will enter the Mercure brand after a franchise contract with French multinational hospitality Accor.
