-The National Bank of Romania (NBR) indicated in the minutes of its January 15, 2025, monetary policy meeting that new assessments reconfirmed the prospects for inflation to decline in Q1 2025, although on a higher path than previously projected in November 2024
-Over 2.1 million job searches took place in January 2025 on the local eJobs online recruitment platform. The most sought-after jobs were driver, engineer, and nurse.
-Wholesale turnover (excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles trade) decreased 2.2% year-on-year (y-o-y) in January–November 2024, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
-Turnover from market services provided mainly to enterprises declined 3.3% in gross series in the first eleven months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, INS reported.
FINANCE
-OMRO IFN, a Romanian microcrediting services company, is listing its third issue of corporate unsecured subordinated bonds worth EUR 1.56 million on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) under the Multilateral Trading System on Thursday, January 30.
COMPANIES
-Romanian companies executed 18 cross-border transactions in 2024, spending over $330 million to acquire businesses in the United States, Italy, and Austria, according to an analysis by Ziarul Financiar, based on EY Romania and market data.
