-The importance of corporate governance and of the revised Code of Corporate Governance of the stock exchange for the development of the Romanian capital market was debated today (Feb. 5) at the conference held by the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) and by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) at the headquarters of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) in Bucharest.
-Amundi, the largest European asset manager is expanding its operations through a new partnership for the distribution of investment funds in Romania with TradeVille, the largest retail broker on the local market.
-Brokerage group XTB ended 2024 with EUR435.3 million consolidated revenues (up 21.8% y-o-y) and EUR200 million profit (up 14.3%), supported by increasing client numbers and expansion of investment offering.
-Sofia-based consumer and SME-focused bank tbi plans to launch new MREL-eligible bond issues in Romania, Bulgaria and Greece, aiming to raise a total of EUR60 to EUR80 million to support its rapid business growth from a regulatory perspective.
COMPANIES
-Romanian startup Footprints AI, a leading AI-based omnichannel retail media platform, is readying for a new growth stage and is set to expand further in CEE, after having registered a sixfold revenue increase in 2024.
-Karlsruhe-based Validator, a German startup specializing in artificial intelligence system governance and testing, has successfully secured funding from key industry players including Bitdefender Voyager Ventures, a special purpose vehicle created by Bitdefender, one of the most powerful companies in the Romanian IT industry.
