-The construction sector posted solid growth. In March 2025, the volume of construction works rose by 6.4% in unadjusted terms year-on-year, and by 3.1% when adjusted for working days and seasonality, INS reported.

FINANCE

– On May 19, Nuclearelectrica, Romania’s only nuclear energy producer, placed a RON300 million term deposit at Exim Banca Românească, without any extension. The move reflects a strategic allocation of surplus liquidity within the state-owned company.

COMPANIES

-The Romanian Competition Council has greenlit the acquisition of Wine Point S.R.L. by Finestore Distribution S.R.L. and Match Point S.R.L., reinforcing consolidation trends in the premium beverage distribution sector.

-In lifestyle and hospitality, Stay Fit Gym, the leading urban fitness network in Romania, is set to open a new fitness center in partnership with Sheraton Bucharest Hotel, part of the Marriott International group. The project involves an investment exceeding RON5 million, enhancing the brand’s upscale footprint.
