ECONOMY
-The average annual number of job vacancies in Romania stood at 35.9 thousand in 2024, down by 4,000 compared to 2023, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics.
-Romania ranked 19th among the 27 EU member states by GDP per capita (PPP) in 2024, tied with Poland and Estonia, based on preliminary Eurostat data.
FINANCE
-Fitch Ratings upgraded Electrica’s outlook from “negative” to “stable”, while reaffirming its long-term rating at ‘BBB-‘.
-Digi Communications (DIGI) announced that its Romanian subsidiary Digi Romania signed two export credit facility agreements on March 27, totaling EUR 54.8 million. The funds, with a four-year maturity, will support the expansion of the company’s telecom networks in Romania and Portugal.
COMPANIES
-The Romanian Competition Council has approved a transaction by which OMV Petrom (SNP) will outsource transport services from the Oltenia and Valahia production areas in Pitești to Eugen Trans S.R.L., including the transfer of related personnel.
-Romgaz (SNG.RO), Romania’s state-run natural gas producer, has called a shareholders’ meeting on April 29 to vote on a RON 0.1568 gross dividend per share, drawn from 2024 profits and retained earnings, totaling approximately RON 604 million.
