15:47 Romania is sticking to its country objective of joining the Schengen area in 2023, Interior Minister Lucian Bode told the Romanian journalists covering the Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) Council meeting in Brussels on Thursday (March 9).

CAPITAL MARKET COMMENTARY

Bucharest stock closed in the green on Thursday bucking the trend across Europe where stocks traded lower after U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell reiterated his warning to lawmakers that the central bank may raise interest rates higher than previously anticipated. During a second day of congressional testimony, Powell once again acknowledged that the U.S. central bank was wrong in initially thinking inflation was only the result of “transitory” factors.
