17:56 Romania’s Minister of Justice Catalin Predoiu said on Monday, in the context of a meeting with Finnish Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Tytti Tuppurainen, that Romania will continue public policies aimed at strengthening the independence of the Judiciary and its efficiency, according to the Ministry of Justice.

16:58 The number of employment contracts registered in the General Employee Directory – REGES stands at over 6.68 million, a 10-year high, and the number of employees is at a record level of 5.79 million, Labor Minister Marius Budai wrote on Facebook on Monday.

10:18 The production of cars in Romania reached 509,465 units in 2022, up 21% y-o-y, according to the data provided by the Association of Automobile Manufacturers in Romania (ACAROM).

For 2023, we are upbeat, but cautiously so, he told business daily Ziarul Financiar (ZF).

Bucharest stocks traded in the red on Monday bucking the uptrend across Europe. UniCredit Bank which is part of the UniCredit Group and one of the major banks in Romania, listed, the first corporate bonds issued this year, worth RON 488.5mn on the Main Market of the BVB. In other news, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the BVB are launching a new Investor Relations and Liquidity Support Programme in Romania, to improve capital market visibility and stock exchange liquidity of up to 3 selected issuers.
