11:18 Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis will participate on Wednesday (Feb. 22), in Warsaw, alongside his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda, in the extraordinary meeting of the Bucharest 9 Format (B9), with US President Joe Biden and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg attending the summit as guests, according to the Presidential Administration.

11:11 Romanian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Petre Daea said in a statement to Agerpres that the Russia-Ukraine conflict had a negative influence on Romania’s agriculture, with implications that cannot yet be quantified, and farmers being currently in an extremely delicate situation, “with full warehouses and empty bank accounts.”

Bucharest stocks traded in the red on Tuesday mirroring the trend across Europe where markets closed lower after following the latest data updates, such as those on the economic sentiment in Germany and the private sector in the United Kingdom, which voiced concerns about inflationary pressures and the general situation remaining unfavorable. Later, European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde reaffirmed the institution’s plans to raise interest rates by 50 basis points in March.
