18:22 Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Petre Daea told Agerpres that the amount allocated to Romania to support farmers affected by the influx of grain from Ukraine is derisory and he has requested a revision of the calculation formula.

18:15 Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis who is on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) met Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice-president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, ruler of the Emirate of Dubai. The two high-ranking officials discussed Romania-UAE development, education and co-operation, according to the Romanian Presidential Administration.

Bucharest stocks closed mostly higher on Tuesday mirroring the uptrend across Europe where major stock market indices finished the trading session in the green amid easing concerns about the health of the banking sector following the efforts by governments and central banks to rescue distressed banks in the U.S. and Europe. Assurances by European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde and U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen about capital and liquidity levels of the banks helped as well.
