On Wednesday (March 22) the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Daniel welcomed Kathleen Kavalec, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Romania, on a presentation visit at the patriarchal residence, with the phenomenon of migration being on the agenda of the discussions, the Romanian Patriarchate informs.

Bucharest stocks turned in a mixed performance on Thursday as investors digested the latest interest rate hikes by the U.S. Federal Reserve and the Bank of England. The U.S. central bank hiked rates by another 25 basis points on Wednesday and expressed caution about the recent banking crisis. It also indicated that hikes are nearing an end. Earlier today, the U.K. central bank announced its widely-expected 25 basis point increase.
