12:01 Romania’s Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca said at an event dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust, organized by the Federation to the Jewish Communities from Romania at the Choral Temple in Bucharest on Friday, that the hard lesson of the Holocaust reminds us every time what happens when the majority does not take a stand against individuals or groups that promote “poisonous ideas for society.”

10:39 Romania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Aurescu had a bilateral meeting with his Dutch counterpart Wopke Bastiaan Hoekstra, on Thursday, in the city of Sibiu in Transylvania, with the discussion agenda including the topic of Romania’s accession to the Schengen area as a matter of priority and the ongoing steps to advance this important file, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE).

12:44 The National Commission for Strategy and Prognosis (CNSP) expects a slowdown in Romania’s economic growth to 2.8% in 2023 and a significant decline in the annual inflation rate to 8% at the end of 2023, the CNSP said in its winter forecast.

SIBIU

12:47 The most bewildering house in central Sibiu County, built with the roof down, represents a magnet for tourists from everywhere, becoming the “star” of the last months in the well-known tourist area called Valea Avrigului / Avrigului Valley. The upside down house is the only one of its kind in the county, according to the County Tourism Association, and among the few in Romania, Agerpres reported.
