POLITICS

-Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis sent a message, on the occasion of 31 years since the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Moldova, saying that Romania will continue to be the most important supporter of the neighbouring state.

-The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, received, on Sunday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Kitack Lim.

ECONOMY

-The salaries of budgeters “increased on average by approximately 150 lei”, Radio Romania reported.

-The total guarantee ceiling available under the SME Invest Plus Program was raised to 17.75 billion RON through an ordinance approved on Friday by the government, the Executive’s spokesperson Dan Carbunaru announced at a press conference at the Victoria Palace of Government.

COMPANIES & MARKET

-Romanian business managers expect a sharp rise in prices in construction and retail trade for the next three months, National Institute of Statistics (INS) data showed.

-Romania’s government sold the assets of the Mintia thermoelectric power plant to Mass Global Energy Rom, part of the Iraqi Mass Group Holding for EUR91.2 million, excluding VAT, Ziarul Financiar reported.
