– Romania can supply natural gas to Moldova and Ukraine following the commissioning of the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector, Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca said, according to Romanian news portal Digi24.

– Petre Daea on Friday sworn-in as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace.

ECONOMY

– Romania’s three-month ROBOR index, the interbank interest rate used as a reference to calculate variable interests for loans in lei taken out before May 2019, was up to 6.79% y-o-y on Friday (July 8) from 6.76% on Thursday (July 7), National Bank of Romania data showed.

– Real estate consulting firm Colliers said the recovery of the Bucharest office space market continued in the first half of 2022, despite uncertainty and fears of an economic slowdown.

– Bucharest-listed Banca Transilvania, Romania’s largest lender by assets, has obtained a very good ESG Risk Rating (17) and is included in the Low Risk category following the Sustainalytics analysis in terms of ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) initiatives and performances. Sustainalytics, a Morningstar Company, rates the sustainability of listed companies based on their ESG performance.

– South East Europe’s largest energy company OMV Petrom led the blue-chip decliners on the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Friday while most stock indices ended in red.
