POLITICS

-The Senate adopted as a decision-making forum, a draft law for ratifying the accession Protocols for Finland and Sweden to the North Atlantic Treaty. 96 votes were “in favor” and one senator did not vote.

-Transport minister Sorin Grindeanu announced on Wednesday that the Government approved the substantiation note for the purchase of twelve hydrogen-powered trains.

ECONOMY

-Romania imported, in January-May 2022, a quantity of usable natural gas of 930,500 tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), 14pct (151,700 toe) less than in the same period a year ago, National Institute of Statistics (INS) data showed.

-In May 2022, the volume of construction works increased, as gross series, by 16.7% compared to April 2022 and was up 4.6% as adjusted series according to the number of working days and to seasonality, INS data showed.

COMPANIES & MARKET
