POLITICS
-Romanian Senate’s acting president, Alina Gorghiu, held a meeting on Monday with a delegation from the Republic of Korea, led by the president of the South-Korean Parliament, Kim Jin-pyo, discussions being focused on improving bilateral relations, boosting strategic partnership between the two countries.
ECONOMY
-Romania has registered a trade deficit (FOB/CIF) of 15.44 billion Euro, during the first 6 months of this year, up by 4.74 billion Euro from the one registered during the same period in 2021. Compared to June 2021, the exports increased by 25.9% and the imports increased by 30.4% in June 2022, National Institute of Statistics (INS) data showed on Tuesday.
-The National Bank of Romania (BNR) has raised its year-end inflation forecast to 13.9% and projects inflation at 7.5% the end of 2023, data presented on Tuesday by central bank governor Mugur Isarescu showed. Romania’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 15.05% in June.
-Roughly 50% of Romanians consider that their financial situation has worsened since last year, and 38% are pessimistic, expecting things to deteriorate even further, according to a survey conducted by CEC Bank in partnership with banking comparator FinZoom.ro.

-The Romanian Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalization has announced the launch of a call to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to boost the competitiveness of the labor force in key technical fields such programming/coding, data analytics, cyber-security, computer-assisted design, additive manufacturing.
