POLITICS
18:03 Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis is paying a working visit to Athens, Greece, on Dec. 2 and 3 to meet his Greek counterpart Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Greece fully supports Romania’s accession to the Schengen Area, said the Greek president. The two heads of state welcomed the very good bilateral relations, enhanced by cultural affinities and a long common history, also emphasizing the close cooperation at the European, regional and international level. Among the topics addressed by Iohannis and Mitsotakis, were the current challenges to ensure energy security, according to the Presidential Administration.

16:58 The president of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), George Simion, claimed on Friday (Dec. 2) in Alba Iulia that Romania no longer has to finance “not even with a single RON” the Government in Chisinau, adding that “too much funds” have been allocated for the Ukrainian refugees, Agerpres reported.
