15:50 President of Romania Klaus Iohannis, President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, President of Latvia Egils Levits, and President of Poland Andrzej Duda adopted on Friday a joint statement on regional security and European integration, Agerpres reported.

12:30 The Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, will arrive in Romania on Monday to meet President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Aurescu, according to NATO.

09:49 The Minister of Labour Marius Budai wrote on Facebook on Thursday (Nov. 24) that the trade unions and employers’ associations have accepted, during the discussions in the National Tripartite Council (CNT), the proposal to increase the minimum gross salary to 3,000 RON, with 200 RON tax-free.

09:42 The Minister of Internal Affairs, Lucian Bode wrote on Facebook on Thursday (Nov. 24), following a meeting with his German counterpart, Nancy Faeser, that Germany’s involvement in supporting Romania’s accession to the Schengen area “matters enormously”.

17:15 Romania’s consolidated budget deficit increased to 3.37 percent of GDP over January – October, from 3.04 percent of GDP at the end of September, according to the Finance Ministry.

14:27 The electricity import grew in 2021 by 513 GWh compared to the previous year, and the export increased by 1,106 GWh (+23pct) compared to 2020, when it was 4,809 GWh, National Institute of Statistics (INS) data showed.

09:57 A number of 63,696 people entered Romania through border points throughout the country, of whom 7,094 were Ukrainian citizens, decreasing by almost 5% compared to the previous day, according to the General Inspectorate of the Border Police (IGPF).

CFR SA, the state railway carrier of Romania, allocates 255.6 million lei for line repair works, track devices and railway installations on the SRCF Bucharest and Constanta line, the company announced on Friday (Nov. 25).

ORADEA

Oradea attracts the third major investment this year. After Stihl (125 million euros) and Nokian Tires (650 million euros), Press Glass Production SRL, the local subsidiary of Press Glass Holding Poland, one of the largest thermal insulation glass manufacturers in Europe, will invest 50 million euros in a glass factory and specific products, on an 8-hectare plot in Oradea, Bihoreanul reported.
