09:39 Romania’s three-month ROBOR index, the interbank interest rate used as a reference to calculate variable interests for loans in lei taken out before May 2019, ended the December 19-23 week at 7.63% a year, a level it kept for the last ten days, National Bank of Romania data showed.

10:57 One person died and at least 22 were injured when a tourist bus carrying 47 Greek nationals hit into the metal beam of an overhead traffic sign in Bucharest on Friday (Dec. 23) afternoon. The Romanian Ministry of Health said the accident happened at around 1.30 p.m., at the entrance to Pasajul Unirii, an underground road passage with a length of 900 meters passing under Piata Unirii. The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens confirmed on Friday that three of the injured are in “serious condition” and that Embassy of Greece in Bucharest officials remain at the hospitals to offer all possible assistance to the injured.
