13:45 Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca had, on Monday in Bucharest a meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, two officials addressing issues related to the need to revive bilateral dialogue and increase the level of ambition in terms of sectoral cooperation.

10: 26 U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will be in Romania Nov. 28 – 30 to attend the NATO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, according to the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest.

10:12 This week, between Nov. 28 and 30, Bucharest becomes the capital of European and Euro-Atlantic diplomacy. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Meeting of the ministers of Foreign Affairs of the NATO member states will take place in Bucharest. The event will be hosted, on behalf of Romania, by minister Bogdan Aurescu, Agerpres reported.

09: 19 The Senate and the Chamber of Deputies will convene on Monday in a joint solemn session to mark Romania’s National Day – December 1.

ECONOMY

19:00 The net assets of the 239 domestic and foreign open-end and closed-end investment funds operating in Romania decreased by 0.7% in October, to RON46.4 billion (EUR9.5 billion), and plunged 13.4% since the beginning of 2022, the Association of Fund Administrators data showed.

15:56 After almost a decade of very strong GDP growth, Romania is preparing itself for a steep slowdown, according to Dimitrios Goranitis, Banking and Capital Markets leader, Deloitte Central Europe, Ziarul Financiar reported.

10:54 The total expenses incurred for research and development in Romania stood at RON 5.6 bln (EUR 1.2 bln), the equivalent to 0.48% of the GDP, in 2021, National Institute of Statistics data showed.

10:35 The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) gained RON 800.4 million in capitalisation, up 0.40%, November 21-25, 2022, on trades going down 31.6% on a weekly basis, according to data published by the BVB.

10:17 Investment fund Fondul Proprietatea has slightly lowered its stake in Bucharest-listed OMV Petrom, the largest oil and gas producer in Southeast Europe, in the third quarter – July, August, September, by selling about 40 million shares on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, which got it RON20 million at an average price of RON0.47/share, according to calculations by Ziarul Financiar.
