CAPITAL MARKET COMMENTARY
Bucharest stocks closed the last trading session of the year higher with a turnover of 41.064 million RON (8.3 million EUR). Among blue-chips, the most traded were OMV Petrom shares, with approximately 12.805 million RON, followed by Proprietatea Fund’s shares, which generated exchanges worth 9.223 million RON, and those of Banca Transilvania (3.040 million RON). Investment activity intensified on the BVB in 2022: over 1.5 million transactions were carried out in the first 11 months, up 11.3% compared to the same period last year. The total trading value with all types of financial instruments reached RON 18.8 billion in the first 11 months, up by 8.3%. The average daily trading value on the Regulated Market with all types of financial instruments reached RON 81.5 million, the equivalent of EUR 16.5 million, +8.8% compared to the first 11 months of the previous year. |

19:01 In 2022, Romania’s finance ministry has approved financial state aid worth RON2.8 billion for 65 investment projects that will generate more than 9,500 new jobs, the ministry announced on Friday (Dec 30).
18:48 The IRCC, which is used by banks to calculate interest rates for new loans taken out starting in spring 2019, will increase to 5.71% starting January 1, 2023, from 4.06% at present, National Bank of Romania data show. Meanwhile, Romania’s three-month interbank offered rate ROBOR, which is used for pricing floating rate consumer loans in RON, dropped on Friday to 7.57% from 7.60% on Thursday, BNR said.
