Southeast European markets ended the week on a mixed note, mirroring the broader downturn seen across the continent. Gains were recorded in Athens, Belgrade, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Sarajevo, and Ljubljana, reflecting regional resilience. However, losses in Bucharest, Banja Luka, Sofia, and Cyprus aligned with the broader weakness in Western Europe, where major indices such as the CAC 40 and DAX ended lower. Thin volumes and selective gains suggest investors are treading cautiously amid global trade uncertainty and European political tensions.


In Sarajevo, the BIFX benchmark index tracking investment funds ended the day unchanged, while the 10-share SASX10 index rose 0.07% to close at 1.371,80 points. Trading volume on the Sarajevo Stock Exchange amounted to 13.220,50 BAM, with 342 securities changing hands in 7 transactions. The most actively traded stock was ASA BANKA DD SARAJEVO, which generated a turnover of 6.155,00 BAM.


The Banja Luka Stock Exchange’s BIRS index was off 0.51%. Turnover totaled BAM 852,26, while the exchange’s market capitalization hovered around BAM 1.028.671.177,12.


In Sofia, the main equity index SOFIX ticked down 0.01% finishing at 1023 points. The total turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange’s main market reached EUR (approximately BGN ).


The Zagreb Stock Exchange recorded a slight decline, with the CROBEX index was higher by 0.14% to settle at 3,563.72 points. Turnover stood at 964,373.82 EUR.


Cyprus’ general index lost 0.17% to end the session at 253.60 points. Total stock volume amounted to EUR 190,500.86 across 139 transactions. Of the listed companies, 5 posted gains, 8 declined, 6 remained unchanged, and 29 were not traded.


In Athens, the general index rose 0.15% to 1,918.09 points. The FTSE Large Cap gained 0.12%, closing at 4,810.79 points. The day’s biggest gain came from Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) which surged by 5.24%, leading the session’s gainers.


No trading activity was recorded on the Moldova Stock Exchange.


In Podgorica, Montenegro’s MNSE10 index added 0.26% to 1.161,68 points. Total turnover reached EUR 12.431,50 across 2 transactions.


North Macedonia’s MBI-10 index added 0.40%, finishing at 10,471.39 points. The market capitalization stood at MKD 272,872,923,328.


Bucharest’s benchmark BET indexx dropped 0.26%, closing at 18.614,05 points. Total turnover on the BVB reached RON 51.62 million (approx. EUR 10.20 million), while Main Segment market capitalization stood at RON 393.67 billion (approx. EUR 77.80 billion). Among blue-chip stocks, BRD led losses with a 2.12% decline, amid broader weakness in financial stocks. Read more here.

The Belgrade Stock Exchange posted a modest gain, with the BELEX15 index rose 0.38% to close at 1.198,22 points. Total market capitalization stood at RSD 488.350.940.009 (approx. EUR 4.167.624.105).


Finally, in Ljubljana, the SBITOP index added 0.16% to end at 2,282.39 points.
