While major European markets closed lower on Thursday amid fresh geopolitical concerns and new economic and financial data, Southeast European bourses posted mixed performances, with gains in Zagreb, Bucharest, Belgrade, Banja Luka, and Nicosia, while markets in Sarajevo, Athens, Sofia, Skopje, and Ljubljana ended the day in the red.

BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA (Banja Luka)
The Banja Luka bourse (BLSE)’s 12-share BIRS equity index was higher by 0.16% to finish at 848,57 points.

BULGARIA
In Sofia, the main equity index SOFIX of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) comprising 15 key stocks dropped 0.09% ending the session at 974.94 points.

CROATIA
In Zagreb, CROBEX index tracking 20 major stocks on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) added 0.33% to reach 3,465.74 points.

CYPRUS
In Nicosia, the general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) which follows 38 listed companies rose 0.10% to end the day at 253.28 points.

GREECE
In Greece, the general index of the Athens Exchange, which tracks 61 large-cap companies, was down 0.41% to settle at 1,828.3100 points. The session’s biggest loss came from Orilina Properties, whose shares shrunk by 6.33%, leading the blue-chip decliners.

Moldova Stock Exchange: no trading activity today.

MONTENEGRO
In Podgorica, the Montenegro Stock Exchange (MNSE) remained closed in observance of Independence Day.

NORTH MACEDONIA
In Skopje, the blue-chip MBI 10 index representing 10 selected blue-chip stocks on the North Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) was down 0.12% to reach 10,735.26 points.

ROMANIA
In Romania, the BET index tracking the 20 most liquid stocks on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) gained 1.88% to end at 17,557.98 points. Read more here.

The BELEX15 Index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BSE), covering the 15 largest and most liquid stocks was higher by 0.10% to close at 1.159,93 points. The BSE’s market capitalization stood at RSD 484.058.076.676 (~EUR 4.128.663.017).

SLOVENIA
The Slovenian SBITOP index which which tracks the 9 most liquid stocks on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange declined 0.44% closing at 2,154.19 points.
