SE Europe Capital Markets

Most stock markets across Southeastern Europe closed higher on Friday, with Slovenia leading the gains, while Banja Luka was the only market to record a slight decline. The Athens Exchange remained flat, reflecting a balanced session.


The Sarajevo Stock Exchange’s (SASE) 10-share benchmark SASX10 index rose 0.42% to end at 1.354,02 points.

The Banja Luka bourse (BLSE)’s 12-share BIRS equity index ticked down 0.05% to settle at 872,19 points.


In Sofia, the main equity index SOFIX of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) comprising 15 key stocks advanced 0.31% ending the session at 888.88 points.


In Zagreb, CROBEX index tracking 20 major stocks on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) was higher by 0.23% to reach 3,229.86 points.


In Nicosia, the general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) which follows 38 listed companies grew by 0.23% to end the day at 232.90 points.


In Greece, the general index of the Athens Exchange, which tracks 61 large-cap companies, was unchanged. The session’s biggest gain came from Optima Bank, whose shares surged by 4.53%, leading the blue-chip gainers.


On the Moldova Stock Exchange, the trade volume stood at MDL 1 271 000.00 (USD 73 755.98). One transaction was concluded and a total of 2050 securites traded.


In Podgorica, the MNSE10, the leading index of the Montenegro Stock Exchange (MNSE) which reflects the 10 most representative shares was unchanged.


In Skopje, the blue-chip MBI 10 index representing 10 selected blue-chip stocks on the North Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) added 0.32% to reach 10,162.42 points.


In Romania, the BET index tracking the 20 most liquid stocks on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) advanced 0.33% to end at 17,431.76 points. Read more here.

The BELEX15 Index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BSE), covering the 15 largest and most liquid stocks rose 0.22% to close at 1.135,14 points. The BSE’s market capitalization stood at RSD 477.055.080.777 (~EUR 4.068.981.147).


The Slovenian SBITOP index which which tracks the 9 most liquid stocks on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange added 1.56% closing at 1,996.92 points, making Slovenia the region’s top performer for the day.
