SE Europe Capital Markets

The Southeast European markets exhibited a mixed performance on Friday, with some indices experiencing gains while others faced significant declines. Montenegro and Serbia saw positive movement, while Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania experienced substantial losses.


The Sarajevo Stock Exchange’s (SASE) 10-share benchmark SASX10 index ticked up 0.05% to end at 1.336,64 points.

The Banja Luka bourse (BLSE)’s 12-share BIRS equity index was off 0.17% settling at 865,67 points.


In Sofia, the main equity index SOFIX of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) comprising 15 key stocks plunged 2.56% ending the session at 879.39 points.


In Zagreb, CROBEX index tracking 20 major stocks on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) dropped 2.76% to reach 3,174.94 points.


In Nicosia, the general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) which follows 38 listed companies fell 2.79% to end the day at 227.00 points.


In Greece, the Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index which tracks 61 Big Cap companies tanked 4.83% settling at 1,597.5500 points. Optimabank led blue-chip losers as the financial services firm saw its shares plummeting 8.61%.


On Moldova Stock Exchange (MSE) there were no transactions today.


In Podgorica, the MNSE10, the leading index of the Montenegro Stock Exchange (MNSE) which reflects the 10 most representative shares gained 0.94% ending the session at 1.187,96 points.


In Skopje, the blue-chip MBI 10 index representing 10 selected blue-chip stocks on the North Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) was down 0.70% to reach 10,437.41 points.


In Romania, the BET index tracking the 20 most liquid stocks on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) declined 2.57% to end at 16.884,29 points. Read more here.

The BELEX15 Index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BSE), covering the 15 largest and most liquid stocks was higher by 0.42% to close at 1.150,77 points. Today’s BSE market capitalisation stood at RSD 479.366.992.024 (EUR 4.091.610.869).


The Slovenian SBITOP index which which tracks the 9 most liquid stocks on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange plunged 2.79% closing at 1,906.25 points.
