Southeastern Europe’s stock markets saw a mixed performance, with some indices posting gains while others ended lower amid regional economic developments. The Athens Stock Exchange and Sarajevo Stock Exchange declined, while markets in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Romania, and Slovenia recorded modest gains.

BULGARIA
In Sofia, the main equity index SOFIX of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) comprising 15 key stocks ticked up 0.03% settling at 907.41 points. Last month, the SOFIX exceeded the 900-point mark for the first time since September 2008, reaching 904.25 points. BSE reported a 40% monthly turnover increase, with transactions rising 14% compared to the previous month.
CROATIA
In Zagreb, CROBEX index tracking 20 major stocks on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) dipped 0.15% to finish at 3,296.88 points.
CYPRUS
In Nicosia, the general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) which follows 38 listed companies, was up 0.27% ending at 228.01 points.
GREECE
In Greece, the Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index which tracks 61 Big Cap companies, dropped 0.30% to close at 1,625.5400 points. National Bank of Greece (CR) was among the top 10 gainers. Piraeus Bank forecasts that credit expansion in Greece will range between €9-11 billion in 2025 and may reach €10-12 billion by 2028.
MOLDOVA
On the Moldova Stock Exchange (MSE) there were no transactions taking place today.
MONTENEGRO
In Podgorica, the MNSE10, the leading index of the Montenegro Stock Exchange (MNSE) which reflects the 10 most representative shares was unchanged.
NORTH MACEDONIA
In Skopje, the blue-chip MBI 10 index representing 10 selected blue-chip stocks on the North Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE), was higher by 0.39% to finish at 10,526.15 points.
ROMANIA
In Romania, the BET index tracking the 20 most liquid stocks on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) was up 0.47% closing at 17,447.20 points. Read more here.
SERBIA
The BELEX15 Index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BSE), covering the 15 largest and most liquid stocks, was up 0.18% ending at 1.137,16 points. BSE’s market capitalization stood at RSD 476.58 billion (€4.07 billion).
SLOVENIA
The Slovenian SBITOP index which which tracks the 9 most liquid stocks on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, (LJSE) grew by 0.66% to finish at 2,025.63 points.
