Southeastern European stock markets delivered a mixed performance in the latest trading session, with Greece and Cyprus leading regional gains, while most Balkan markets closed in the red. The Athens Stock Exchange stood out with a robust 2.73% jump, followed by Slovenia and Serbia. In contrast, losses were recorded in markets such as Sarajevo, Sofia, Skopje, and Podgorica.


The Sarajevo Stock Exchange’s (SASE) 10-share benchmark SASX10 index was down 0.33% to end at 1.333,59 points.

The Banja Luka bourse (BLSE)’s 12-share BIRS equity index lost 0.19% settling at 869,38 points.


In Sofia, the main equity index SOFIX of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) comprising 15 key stocks dropped 0.39% ending the session at 879.45 points.


In Zagreb, CROBEX index tracking 20 major stocks on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) was off 0.10% to reach 3,217.60 points.


In Nicosia, the general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) which follows 38 listed companies rose 1.03% to end the day at 228.04 points.


In Greece, the general index of the Athens Exchange, which tracks 61 large-cap companies, jumped 2.73% to close at 1,625.7700 points. The session’s biggest gain came from Metlen, whose shares soared 7.97%, leading the blue-chip gainers.


On the Moldova Stock Exchange, there were no transactions today.


In Podgorica, the MNSE10, the leading index of the Montenegro Stock Exchange (MNSE) which reflects the 10 most representative shares declined 0.45% ending the session at 1.176,70 points.


In Skopje, the blue-chip MBI 10 index representing 10 selected blue-chip stocks on the North Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) was lower by 0.81% to reach 10,277.47 points.


In Romania, the BET index tracking the 20 most liquid stocks on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) added 0.07% to end at 17,057.76 points. Read more here.

The BELEX15 Index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BSE), covering the 15 largest and most liquid stocks rose 1.14% to close at 1.155,36 points. The BSE’s market capitalization stood at RSD 483.011.714.011 billion (~EUR4.120.529.070).


The Slovenian SBITOP index which which tracks the 9 most liquid stocks on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange advanced 1.33% closing at 1,963.69 points.
