Regional equities posted a mixed performance on Thursday, broadly aligning with the wider European trend, where markets ended mostly higher supported by encouraging labor data. The Eurozone’s unemployment rate eased to 6.3% in August, underscoring resilience in the bloc’s job market. Against this backdrop, most SEE bourses recorded modest gains, though some markets edged lower.


In Sarajevo, the SASX-10 index was down 0.20% settling at 1.473,81 points. Turnover on the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) reached 41.029,07KM in today’s session, with 10 trades concluded and a total of 11.744 securities changing hands. The most actively traded stock was SOLANA DD TUZLA which generated the highest turnover of 21.945,00KM.


The Banja Luka Stock Exchange’s BIRS index fell 0.68% to finish at 850,26 points. Turnover stood at 20.682,98KM, while overall market turnover reached 1.022.468.052,88KM.


In Sofia, the main equity index SOFIX ticked up 0.01% settling at 1 065.63 points. The total turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange’s market (including the Main, Alternative, beam and MTF BSE International markets) stood at EUR 9 771 308 (BGN19 111 019 ).


The Zagreb Stock Exchange’s CROBEX index rose 0.46% to settle at 3,826.02 points. Turnover stood at EUR 1,679,823.78.


Cyprus’ general index was up 0.09% to end the session at 287.31 points. Total stock volume amounted to EUR 9,459,275.80 across 130 transactions. Of the listed companies, 4 posted gains, 7 declined, 7 remained unchanged, and 30 were not traded.


In Athens, the general index inched up 0.04% to finish at 2,057.26 points. Ekter led blue-chip gainers for the second straight day, rallying 4.33%.


On the Moldova Stock Exchange, there was no trading activity today.


In Podgorica, Montenegro’s stock exchange MNSE 10 index was lower by 0.22% ending at 1.154,56 points. The stock PREN was the hit of the day, closing at a price of €1.19 It recorded a total trading volume of €4.230,00 executed through 5 transactions.


North Macedonia’s MBI-10 index declined 0.19% settling at 10,267.17 points. The market capitalization stood at MKD 267,649,336,285.


Bucharest’s benchmark BET index was higher by 0.66%, closing at 21,526.78 points. Among blue-chip stocks, Iasi-based drugmaker Nuclearelectrica led gainers as its shares jumped 4.19%. Read full Romania Market Report here.

The Belgrade Stock Exchange’s BELEX15 index was off 0.37% finishing at 1.216,49 points. Total market capitalization: 495.736.574.827 RSD (€4.231.390.339)


Finally, in Ljubljana, the SBITOP index added 0.20% to end at 2,510.57 points. Turnover stood at EUR 4,541,032.20.
