Southeast European equities ended Wednesday’s session mixed, mirroring the broader European trend where markets closed higher despite fresh data showing eurozone inflation ticked up from 2.0% to 2.2% in September, while manufacturing activity continued to contract. Gains in Greece, Romania, Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro contrasted with declines in Bulgaria, Cyprus, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia.


In Sarajevo, the SASX-10 index inched up 0.23% settling at 1.476,76 points. Turnover on the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) reached 43.045,80 KM in today’s session, with 7 trades concluded and a total of 3.389 securities changing hands. The most actively traded stock was UNIS GINEX DD GORAŽDE which generated the highest turnover of 3.150,00 KM.


The Banja Luka Stock Exchange’s BIRS index added 0.22% to finish at 856,05 points. Turnover stood at 520,00 KM, while overall market turnover reached 1.033.493.058,72 KM.


In Sofia, the main equity index SOFIX fell 0.65% settling at 1 065.56 points. The total turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange’s market (including the Main, Alternative, beam and MTF BSE International markets) stood at EUR 1 088 044 (BGN 2 128 030).


The Zagreb Stock Exchange’s CROBEX index rose 0.27% to settle at 3,808.50 points. Turnover stood at EUR 2,560,079.50.


Cyprus’ general index was off 0.46% to end the session at 287.05 points. Total stock volume amounted to EUR 402,109.00 across 123 transactions. Of the listed companies, 8 posted gains, 8 declined, 0 remained unchanged, and 32 were not traded.


In Athens, the general index added 1.09% to finish at 2,034.22 points. Ekter led blue-chip gainers as its shares surged by 11.24%.


On the Moldova Stock Exchange, there was no trading activity today.


In Podgorica, Montenegro’s stock exchange MNSE 10 index was up 0.20% ending at 1.157,09 points. The stock TREN was the hit of the day, closing at a price of €0.04 It recorded a total trading volume of €700 executed through three transactions.


North Macedonia’s MBI-10 index lost 0.59% settling at 10,286.26 points. The market capitalization stood at MKD 268,084,470,838.


Bucharest’s benchmark BET index was higher by 0.23%, closing at 21,385.15 points. Among blue-chip stocks, Iasi-based drugmaker Medlife led gainers as its shares rose 1.53%. Read full Romania Market Report here.

The Belgrade Stock Exchange’s BELEX15 index was off 0.37% finishing at 1.216,49 points. Total market capitalization: 496.211.866.215 RSD (€4.234.984.524)


Finally, in Ljubljana, the SBITOP index dropped 0.10% to end at 2,505.52 points. Turnover stood at EUR 3,019,625.20.
