SE Europe Capital Markets

Markets across Southeast Europe closed mixed on Friday, reflecting the broader European trend where indices ended flat to lower as investors weighed recent central bank moves and the potential impact of new tariffs. A touch of profit-taking also contributed to the region’s weaker tone. Gains in Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, and Sarajevo were partly offset by declines in Romania, Bulgaria, and Montenegro.


In Sarajevo, the SASX-10 index edged up 0.16%. Turnover on the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) reached 8,357.50 KM in today’s session, with seven trades concluded and a total of 395 securities changing hands. The most actively traded stock was Bosnalijek d.d. Sarajevo, which generated the highest turnover of 3,986.50 KM.


The Banja Luka Stock Exchange’s BIRS index was higher by 0.13% settling at 830,28 points. Turnover totaled BAM 30.934,30 while the exchange’s market capitalization hovered around BAM 1.011.407.104,19.


In Sofia, the main equity index SOFIX lost 0.30% settling at 1 065.52 points. The total turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange’s market (including the Main, Alternative, beam and MTF BSE International markets) stood at EUR 16 217 827 (BGN 31 719 314).


The Zagreb Stock Exchange’s CROBEX index gained 0.50% to settle at 3,841.78 points. Turnover stood at EUR 4,612,403.19.


Cyprus’ general index was up 0.29% to end the session at 289.35 points. Total stock volume amounted to EUR 1,805,328.20 across 146 transactions. Of the listed companies, 6 posted gains, 7 declined, 0 remained unchanged, and 35 were not traded.


In Athens, the general index rose 0.17% to finish at 2,030.46 points. Elvahalcor led blue-chip gainers as its shares soared 5.78%.


The Moldova Stock Exchange saw no trading activity today.


In Podgorica, Montenegro’s stock exchange MNSE 10 index dropped 0.64% settling at 1.159,16 points. The stock TECG was the hit of the day, closing at a price of €2.32 It recorded a total trading volume of €5220 executed through three transactions.


North Macedonia’s MBI-10 index gained 0.10% settling at 10,451.48 points. The market capitalization stood at MKD 272,277,396,270.

The Belgrade Stock Exchange’s BELEX15 index added 0.38% finishing at 1.227,86 points. Market capitalisation stood at RSD 497.488.891.050

Finally, in Ljubljana, the SBITOP index advanced 0.17% to end at 2,482.11 points. Turnover stood at EUR 3,289,749.90.
